Medical Records Institute’s
TEPR conference is the prime place for physicians to compare
EMR Systems. The new EMRCompareSM program compares EMR
systems by cost, functionality and usability. In addition
to EMRCompare, specific specialty programs were offered.
On Tuesday, May 22, the 5th Annual
Pediatrics Day took place at TEPR 2007 in Dallas, Texas.
The day-long program featured special programming for
pediatricians and was co-sponsored by the American Academy
of Pediatrics’ (AAP) Council on Clinical Information
Technology.
The Awards program was moderated
by Joseph H. Schneider, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Information
Officer, Children’s Medical Center, Clinical Assistant
Professor, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
and Eugenia Marcus, MD, FAAP, Pediatric Health Care at
Newton Wellesley. The judges were three pediatricians
from the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council
on Clinical Information Technology.
During the Pediatrics Awards competition,
competing EMR vendors, pediatricians in the audience,
and the moderators discussed key concepts regarding EMRs
and their implementation. The highlight of the competition
were the vendors who were able to import and export Continuity
of Care Records (CCRs) easily and who produced, for the
first time, a standard AAP-ACEP approved Emergency Information
Form for Children with Special Healthcare Needs. |
