Rules of Operation
I. Introduction
Medical Records Institute has designed MTCompare
to help link healthcare providers with medical transcription
businesses. It will provide hospitals, clinics, physician
practices, and other providers with broader, more transparent
data about medical transcription businesses and their services
so that they can compare and contrast them and make informed
MT outsourcing decisions. And it will benefit participating
MT businesses by giving them wider exposure and greater access
to prospective clients.
To provide these benefits, MRI must assure that the information
submitted by MT businesses and included in the MTCompare
program is true, accurate and complete. Accordingly, by participating
in the MTCompare program, each vendor certifies that
the submissions are true, accurate and complete and, further,
agrees to be bound by the MTCompare Terms and Conditions
of Use and these Rules of Operation, as they may be amended
or revised from time to time. MRI will give participating
vendors notice of changes in the Rules.
MRI understands that unintentional inaccuracies may be included
in the submission and provides for corrective mechanisms in
these Rules. However, MRI also reserves the right to terminate
any vendor’s participation in the MTCompare
program if it determines that a vendor is acting in bad faith
or if it otherwise determines that it is appropriate to do
so.

(A link to the complete questionnaire will be emailed to you
after MRI has received your forms and payment.)
Note: Many questions may be answered by YES or NO, with or
without comments. Others require a narrative answer. Companies
are asked for general (not proprietary) information, e.g.,
they are asked “Do you have documented backup policies/procedures?”
NOT “What are your backup policies/procedures?”
Further, if it prefers, a company may decline to answer any
question.

V. Self-reporting, Public Verification, and Correction
Methods
In order to assure the reliability and credibility of the
MTCompare system and the truth, accuracy and completeness
of the submissions, information is open to challenge by any
individual or organization, including other vendors. MRI will
post each challenge with the name of its challenger. A vendor
then may agree to a change if a mistake has been made or may
insist that the information is correct and rebut the complaint.
To discourage frivolous challenges, information regarding
who initiates challenges and the outcome of the review will
be made publicly available, and those initiating repeated
unsubstantiated challenges may themselves be subject to review
cost.
Note: At times specified by MRI, vendors may update information
at a fee of $50.
