Rules of Operation
I. Introduction
Medical Records Institute has designed HIT ConsultantCompare
to help link healthcare providers with HIT/EMR consultants.
The program will provide hospitals, clinics, physician
practices, and other providers with broader, more transparent
data about consultants and their services so that they
can compare and contrast them and make informed consultant
selection decisions. It will benefit participating consultants
by giving them wider exposure and greater access to prospective
clients.
To provide these benefits, MRI must assure that the
information submitted by HIT/EMR consultants and included
in the ConsultantCompare program is true, accurate and
complete. Accordingly, by participating in the program,
each consultant certifies that the submissions are true,
accurate and complete and, further, agrees to be bound
by the HIT Consultant Compare Terms and Conditions of
Use and these Rules of Operation, as they may be amended
or revised from time to time. MRI will give participating
consultants notice of changes in the Rules.
MRI understands that unintentional inaccuracies may
be included in the submission and provides for corrective
mechanisms in these Rules. However, MRI also reserves
the right to terminate any participant in the program
if it determines that a consultant is acting in bad faith
or if it otherwise determines that it is appropriate to
do so.

III. HIT ConsultantCompare Questionnaire Outline
(As noted above, a link to the complete questionnaire
will be emailed to you after MRI has received your forms
and payment.)
Note: Many questions may be answered
by YES or NO, with or without comments. Others require
a narrative answer. Companies are asked for general (not
proprietary) information. Further, a company may decline
to answer any question. Topics addressed include:
- • Contact information for follow up by prospective
clients
• Business demographics
• Business disclosures (e.g., type of ownership,
years in business)
• Personnel
• Services offered (EMR selection, HIPAA compliance,
workflow reengineering, etc.)
• RFPs
• Contracts (topics, not details)
V. Self-reporting, Public Verification, and Correction
Methods
In order to assure the reliability and credibility of
the HIT ConsultantCompare program and the truth, accuracy
and completeness of the submissions, information is open
to challenge by any individual or organization, including
other consultants. MRI will post each challenge with the
name of its challenger. A consultant then may agree to
a change if a mistake has been made or may insist that
the information is correct and rebut the complaint. To
discourage frivolous challenges, information regarding
who initiates challenges and the outcome of the review
will be made publicly available, and those initiating
repeated unsubstantiated challenges may themselves be
subject to review costs.
Note: At times specified by MRI, consultants
may update information at a fee of $50.
