C. Peter Waegemann

C. Peter Waegemann is the Executive Director
of the Medical Records Institute, a Boston-based organization
involved in applied research and functioning as an educational
clearinghouse. He is considered an international leader
in medical informatics with a special interest in electronic
patient record systems, standards, networking, telemedicine,
and the creation of the national information infrastructure.
He is the most sought-after speaker on electronic health
records, e-Health, and m-Health.

Claudia Tessier
Vice President – Medical Records Institute
Claudia Tessier is an internationally
recognized expert, speaker, writer, and consultant on
healthcare documentation, the Continuity of Care Record
(CCR) and electronic medical records (EMR). During her
18 years as CEO of the American Association for Medical
Transcription (AAMT), she was instrumental in growing
that industry to its current status as a $25 billion business
with 400,000 MTs in the United States. Following that,
as Executive Director of the Mobile Healthcare Alliance
(MoHCA), she promoted the adoption of mobile devices and
applications in healthcare in order to facilitate point
of care access to, capture of, and transfer of health
information and enhance patient safety.
In 2002, Ms Tessier’s organizational and leadership
skills, as well as her expertise in healthcare documentation,
led to her appointment as co-chair of the Continuity of
Care Record Project, which is sponsored (among others)
by ASTM International’s E31 Committee on Healthcare
Informatics, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American
Academy of Family Practice, and the American Academy of
Pediatrics.
Claudia is one of the top experts on health information
capture issues, including transcription, speech recognition,
and all other methods of inputting health data into computers.
She initially was affiliated with Medical Records Institute
(MRI) as chair of its advisory board, and in 2006 became
vice president of MRI, with responsibilities for education
as well as executive management.
